Join us for a special walking tour in celebration of Black History Month as we explore the rich history of Dunedin’s Black community. This tour, which coincides with the 10th anniversary of the Jackson Street plaque honoring the Black community, will take you through significant landmarks along Jackson Street. Learn about the lives and legacies of prominent Black individuals who helped shape Dunedin’s culture, growth, and history.
As we walk, we’ll reflect on the enduring impact of the Black community, celebrate its achievements, and discuss the challenges faced throughout the years. This is an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of Dunedin’s diverse heritage and the vital contributions of its Black residents.
** We will meet in front of Eli’s BBQ and go on our exploration from there! **
Please wear closed toe shoes and bring a flash light
*Minimum of 6 people sign up – if not enough people sign up credit towards next walk*
